See the high resolution photo example below from the Canon 70D set at a high ISO of 12800. To see how much the high ISO technology has improve, you can compare with my high ISO photos taken with my Canon R7Canon EOS R, and Canon R6 Mark II cameras. Part of the way that you evaluate whether the 70D is still any good is by seeing how well it performs in dimly lit photography situations where you typically have toraise your ISO setting to get a good exposure.

Now, 8 years later, I decided to update this test by using the newest AI technology in noise reduction software. I applied Topaz DeNoise editing software to the original photo of the Amaryllis above and got the improved image quality photo below. Compare the two. What do you think?

The photo above shows you that you can get high image quality photos with your 70D even at high ISO settings. This was the first high ISO test I had done on any of my Canon cameras. The 70D was my third APS-C "crop" camera. With 20 megapixels on its sensor, and a Digic 5+ processor, the technology was good when the 70D was released back in the summer of 2013.
