"I recently purchased a Cannon Power Shot SX740 HS and I can not find the setting to set the timer for a time delayed photo? I've gone from one end of the manual to the other and still can't find it. Can you help me?"

Hi Dan!

Thanks for asking how to set the self timer on your ultra-compact, Powershot SX740. With a 40X zoom, a 20 MP sensor, and a Digic 8 processor, you're sure to have a lot of fun and get some great photos.

You need to use the Quick Control screen to set your self timer with either a 2 second or a 10 second delay, depending on how you're using it. See the diagram below.

One easy way to find specific topics on your Powershot SX740 is to use the index in the very back of the manual. Please let me know if this what you were looking to do. I appreciate it.

Hope this helps,
Bruce

This is the most difficult self timer I have ever experienced. The manual is useless. Just what do you mean by "choose" in your instructions. I have tried "set" with no luck. Please give clear instructions for this process.
