Canon Rebel T6 (1300D) Memory Card Slot

Hi Geek
I am having problems downloading my photographs onto the PC. I work with a number of Canons and have found if i change the card and put it in another canon it will download. This afternoon another canon same design had the same issue and once again I put the card in a different camera and it worked.
What do you think is happening please?
Carole

Hi Carole,

Thanks for your question about issues with downloading photos from your Canon 1300D, known as the t6 here in the USA, to your computer.

Sorry you're having problems. Some People tether their cameras to download and some prefer removing the cards and using a card reader to transfer. Coincidentally, just this morning for the 2nd time, I also am having troubles with my PC reading from one of my SD memory cards. Generally by habit, I remove my memory cards from my Canons and use an SD card reader slot in my PC for transferring images over.

Intermittent problems of any kind drive me nuts. I had to use a separate USB/card reader and insert that into a USB port on my PC to get my computer to recognize the memory card.

How to fix downloading with your Canon 1300D-t6

Carole, from what you describe your downloading issues with your cameras are coming from just one card. With prices at ridiculously low levels, I'd toss the card and buy a new one. If the downloading issue gets worse you may get to a point where you can't download your images at all because a card becomes unreadable or corrupted.

I don't know how old your card is, can't see if the electrical contacts on it are worn or possibly dirty, but doubt it's an issue with your actual cameras.

Please get back to me when you've solved your problem. The fellow readers of the website benefit-and so do I. I will be ordering another SD card this afternoon.

Thanks,
Bruce
